| Each of the above named scholarships will be awarded to Phi U members enrolled in baccalaureate programs. Selection will be based on the applicant's scholastic record; participation in Phi U and other collegiate activities; a statement of professional aims and goals; professional services; and recommendations. | ||

| Jackman Scholarship will be awarded to a Phi U member working toward a baccalaureate degree in family and consumer sciences or a related area with preference given to majors in family and consumer science education who have shown exemplary commitment to Phi Upsilon Omicron. | ||
| Lillian P. Schoephoerster Scholarship 2 for $1,000 will be awarded to a non-traditional student who is a member of Phi U working toward a baccalaureate degree in family and consumer sciences or a related subject. | ||
| Margaret Jerome Sampson Scholarships 4 for $3,000 each will be awarded to Phi U members pursuing baccalaureate degrees in family and consumer sciences with preference given to majors in dietetics or food and nutrition. Selection will be based on the applicant's scholastic record, participation in Phi U, and professional aims and goals. At least one recommendation must be from the student's Phi U chapter advisor. Must provide a financial statement and a double spaced typewritten page. | ||
| Mary Weiking Franken Scholarship will be awarded to a Phi U member working toward a baccalaureate degree in family and consumer sciences or a related area with preference given to majors in child/family or family and consumer sciences education. | ||
| Martha Combs Jenkins Scholarship will be awarded to a Phi U member pursuing a baccalaureate degree in family and consumer sciences or one of its related areas who has shown exemplary commitment to Phi Upsilon Omicron. | ||
| Nell Bryant Robinson Scholarship will be awarded to a Phi U member pursuing a baccalaureate degree in family and consumer sciences or a related area with preference given to majors in dietetics or food and nutrition. | ||
| S. Penny Chappell Scholarship will be awarded to a Phi U member pursuing a baccalaureate degree in fashion design and construction, textile design and development and/or textile preservation. | ||
| Sutherland/Purdy Scholarship will be awarded to a Phi U member pursuing a baccalaureate degree in clothing and textiles or a related area such as apparel design or fashion merchandising. This student must have held a leadership position in her/his Phi U chapter and have earned at least a 3.0 out of 4.0 overall point average. | ||
| Tommie J. Hamner Scholarship will be awarded to a Phi U member pursuing a baccalaureate degree in family and consumer sciences or one of its related areas who has shown exemplary commitment to Phi Upsilon Omicron. | ||
| Treva C. Kintner Scholarships each will be awarded to Phi U non-traditional students. Recipients must have completed at least half of the academic work toward a baccalaureate degree in family and consumer sciences or a related area. | ||

| Janice Cory Bullock Award will be awarded annually to a non-traditional Phi U student who desires to continue education in family and consumer sciences or a related area which will enable gainful employment. | ||
| Sarah Thorniley Phillips Leadership Awards will be awarded annually to Phi U undergraduate members for outstanding leadership and participation in collegiate and community programs. | ||
| Lynne White Scheider Award will be awarded annually to a Phi U undergraduate member for demonstrated leadership and scholarship in the area of consumer affairs, personal finance, and/or family finance. | ||
| Geraldine Clewell Senior Awards will be awarded annually to Phi U graduating seniors for exemplary service to their local chapters. At least one recommendation must be from the local chapter advisor. | ||
| Orinne Johnson Writing Award will be awarded to a collegiate member who submits the best creative writing related to the current professional project theme for publication in the honor society's publication, THE CANDLE. | ||
| Shirley Noah Chase Award will be awarded annually to a Phi U undergraduate with preference given to family and consumer sciences education majors. | ||
| Lillian P. Schoephoerster Award will be awarded to a part-time undergraduate non-traditional student of at least junior status. | ||

Application Deadline: February I Selection will be based upon applicant's scholastic record; honors and recognitions; participation in honor society, professional, community, and other organizations; scholarly work; statement of professional goals; and recommendations. Recipients must be Phi U members. |

| Candle Fellowship each for study leading to a master's degree in family and consumer sciences. Phi U members who are enrolled or plan to enroll in a graduate school are eligible to apply. | ||
| Diamond Anniversary Fellowships will be awarded for study at the master's or doctoral level in family and consumer sciences or a related are. The recipients must have been accepted into or currently enrolled in a graduate program. | ||
| Founders Fellowship will be awarded for advanced graduate study. The applicant must have completed at least half the credit-hour requirements toward the doctorate in some area of family and consumer sciences and have had several years of successful employment in the profession. | ||
| Geraldine Clewell Fellowship will be awarded to a doctoral student in family and consumer sciences or a related area with preference given to a student who desires to teach at the college/university level. At least one recommendation must be from the student's major advisor. | ||
| Geraldine Clewell Fellowship will be awarded to a student pursuing a master's degree in family and consumer sciences or related area with preference given to a student majoring in family and consumer sciences education and who desires to teach at the elementary/secondary level. At least one recommendation must be from the student's major advisor. | ||
| Jean Dearth Dickerscheid Fellowship will be awarded to a student pursuing a Ph.D. in family and consumer sciences or related area and has earned at least one other degree in family and consumer sciences. The applicant must intend to pursue a career in academia. | ||
| Margaret Drew Alpha Fellowship will be awarded for graduate study in a field of family and consumer sciences with preference given to a dietetics or food and nutrition major. | ||
| Presidents Research Fellowship will be awarded for graduate research at the master's, doctoral or post-doctoral level in family and consumer sciences or a related area. Application must include research prospectus exhibiting organization and need for the research. | ||

| Florence Faligatter Distinguished Service Award of a plaque and expenses to attend Conclave is granted biennially on Conclave years to a qualified alumni member of Phi Upsilon Omicron for outstanding achievements in family and consumer sciences. Requires 10 years of employment or volunteer activities. | ||
| Frances Morton Holbrook Alumni Award of a plaque and expenses to attend Conclave is granted biennially on Conclave years to a qualified alumni member of Phi Upsilon Omicron for fulfilling personal and professional goals which promote the purposes of family and consumer sciences. Criteria includes demonstrated excellence in one of the areas of family and consumer sciences. | ||

| Hazel Hatcher International Award in the amount of $1,500 will be granted biennially to assist the applicant in returning to the United States for the purpose of updating professional information through attending a conference, seminar or national professional meeting. Applicant must hold a degree in family and consumer sciences or one of its specialized areas from a college/university in the United States and have had at least 5 years of professional service outside of the United States since receiving a degree. | ||

| Alumni Research Grant of $2,000 will be awarded biennially to a Phi U member for the support of post graduate research work not necessarily leading to an advanced degree. Selection will be made on the following basis: use of money in the applicant's research; value of research problem; professional aims and goals. Research prospectus must accompany the application. | ||

| Marion Bachtel Collegiate Advisor Award Application Deadline: November 1 (annually) | ||
| Marion Bachtel Collegiate Advisor Award of a $300 award, a certificate, and an engraved piece of Phi U jewelry is presented to a Phi U collegiate advisor who has demonstrated excellence as a collegiate chapter advisor. Criteria for selection include the accomplishments of the chapter under the advisor's leadership. | ||
| Advisor Conclave Award Application Deadline: June 1 (even-numbered years)* | ||
| Advisor Conclave Award of a certificate and $200 toward expenses to attend Conclave is granted in Conclave years to an exemplary collegiate chapter advisor who has never attended conclave. Criteria for selection include the accomplishments of the chapter under the advisor's leadership and the advisor's potential for promoting chapter growth. | ||

There is an on-going need for more financial aid for outstanding
Phi Upsilon Omicron members to pursue graduate and undergraduate studies and
to recognize excellence. By meeting certain minimal requirements, an individual,
group or chapter may start a new fund. You can establish a fund in your own
name or to honor an individual such as an outstanding member or faculty person.
